HMMWV In Scale

Joseph built this Revell Germany M998 to represent a field modified M998 HMMWV from 'Desert Storm' in 1991. Joseph says "Despite the various negative remarks on the internet about this kit, it was nice to build for this conversion." The only modifications to the kit were resin wheels that were cast by Joseph and the scratchbuilt wooden box. The wooden box is made of plastic card. The paint used is Humbrol using photos of the actual vehicle as his guide for the colors. The wooden base is painted in different colors. Joseph says his biggest challenge was recreating the color of the wood. The vehicle recognition markings were painted by hand. The ground surface is made with plaster and sprinkled with fine sand. The entire ground surface was painted with Humbrol diluted Essance F.
